My Most Anticipated of 2019!

Hey

fiona-lumbers-best-new-books-16x9It’s that time of the year again! Time to look back on the best we’ve read, the ones we’re looking forward to, and everything in between! Today, I wanted to share what books are on my radar for the next year, specifically those that I’m planning on buying and reading right away!

Some of these don’t have blurbs or covers, or really even names, but they’re an auto buy author or series for me. These aren’t in any particular order, but there are a few that I’m more excited about than others! Please tell me what you guys are looking forward to next year or if there’s something that needs to be on this list!

Line

Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle #1) by Jay Kristoff and Amy Kaufman

Ahhhh, yes! The fantastic duo that brought us the literary crack that was the Illuminae Files is back with another galaxy bending adventure! I’m literally bursting with excitement for this book and I can promise you call I’ll be at Barnes & Noble immediately following this release. I haven’t talked about it in a while but since finishing Obsidio I’ve been reeling from a massive book hangover. That series meant the world to me and I think I’ll never be over it, so when I found out they were teaming up again I almost cried.

While this one doesn’t have a cover, it does have a blurb and a release date (according to Goodreads)! It’s expected in May of 2019 and you can find the blurb here! This will be the perfect graduation present to myself and I cannot wait to get my hands on this!

Children of Virtue and Vengeance (Legacy of Orïsha #2) by Tomi Adeyemi

Sigh. So, there has been a lot of recent controversy with this author because of some truly stupid comments she made about the god that is Nora Roberts, but I’m not going to pretend that I’m not incredibly excited about this book. The first was one of the best that I’ve read this year and I loved everything about it, and I’m not going to boycott Tomi because of one dumb tweet.

This is expected to hit shelves in March of next year, and you can read the blurb for it here! This is on my must buy radar and I’m really excited to get my hands on this. The world that the author created felt real and dangerous and magical and I can’t wait to go back!

The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air #2) by Holly Black

26032887It honestly feels like everyone and their mother has read the ARC of this already, but I haven’t been graced by the advanced copy gods. The Cruel Prince was one of the biggest hits of this year and since I do love a good anti-hero, I picked it up and loved it.

This comes out in January (not too long now!) and I cannot wait to get my hands on this. It’s got it all; magic, sexual tension, bad ass females, sisterly love, and an incredibly wicked male lead that I love to hate and hate to love. Give me! Goodreads link here!

Crescent City(?) (Crescent City #1) by Sarah J. Maas

While this lacks a cover, a concrete month of release, and a real synopsis I AM FOAMING AT THE MOUTH FOR THIS. Sarah J. Maas is my queen and even though I have yet to finish the Throne of Glass series (I didn’t really like the first book much), I would kill to get my hands on this. Her YA series has always been brutal and sexy and so I can’t wait to see how this amps up in an adult series. Will be stalking her social media until I learn more, but this is probably the book I want to most next year. More information here!

Kill Switch (Devil’s Night #3) by Penelope Douglas

A687A067-4D38-4BAB-BBA8-2EEBF70DDF53I did the cover reveal for this on Halloween, and the days are slowly ticking by until this releases! Coming this February the 11th, we’ll finally get to see the story of the villain that has been terrorizing the Horsemen! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love an anti-hero.

Penelope is an auto buy author for me and her books are all literal works of art, I adore her to no end and cannot wait to one-click this so hard my thumb breaks. Goodreads information here!

An Ember in the Ashes #4 by Sabaa Tahir

No cover. No name. No date. But I am beyond ready for Sabaa to once again destroy my life and everything I hold dear in one fell swoop. No more is needed here.

The Rise of Kyoshi by F.C. Yee and Michael Dante DiMartino

41104164Avatar is one of the great loves of my life and so when I found out about this book and the fact that we could dive back into this incredibly rich world I literally cried. Ask my husband, I was calling and texting everyone I knew.

This comes out in July and you can bet your ass I will be at Barnes & Noble the moment it opens to pick this up. Not only this, but Netflix announced a new live action series for Avatar and I’m just so excited for all the Avatar related goodness coming at me! Blurb is found here!

Line

There you have it, friends! The books that I am dying for in 2019! Thankfully, the wait is getting shorter and shorter! Unless, of course, you’re waiting for ACOTAR #4 then you have to wait till 2020 because Queen Maas loves to torture us. Anyway, let me know in the comments what you’re waiting for!

Happy reading
