Today I’m hosting a blog tour for Wicked Saints, a new, highly-anticipated, YA Fantasy novel releasing next month!
I had heard great great things about this one and so when I received the email asking if I would like an ARC I jumped on it! I hope to have the book finished at the time of release, but I’m excited to share with you all a small author Q&A and an excerpt from the novel!
A girl who can speak to gods must save her people without destroying herself.
A prince in danger must decide who to trust.
A boy with a monstrous secret waits in the wings.
Together, they must assassinate the king and stop the war.
In a centuries-long war where beauty and brutality meet, their three paths entwine in a shadowy world of spilled blood and mysterious saints, where a forbidden romance threatens to tip the scales between dark and light.
Tonkin About Books: Where do you find the most inspiration to write?
Emily Duncan: Pinterest, video games, and metal music, mostly. But it’s a far more nebulous thing, inspiration, than being able to place it down to one specific event of object that sparked it. Most times I have no idea where anything comes from, I just throw it into the book and hope for the best.
TAB: What do you hope readers take away from your novel?
ED: Honestly? I hope they have fun reading it. That’s the most important thing at the end of the day. There are messages I’m trying to work through in the book, but I don’t really care if readers get those or they don’t, I just want them to have fun with the book.
TAB: Who is your favorite character from the story?
ED: My nightmare boy, Malachiasz Czechowicz. Blood mage drama queen extraordinaire. Teller of the worst jokes. A boy with absolutely no moral compass whatsoever. He’s the worst. I love him so much.

Expect my full review closer to release day! Thanks again to the author, publisher, and publishing team for sending this ARC and Blog Tour opportunity my way!
