My friends! I am so pumped to be writing this because my June rocked! I finished my whole TBR plan plus some, and I’m literally bursting because I read some really really fantastic books this month. My publishing partners were too good to me.
I had mentioned this in my June TBR post that I was going to start only putting my ARC and review copies on my TBR plan so I wouldn’t get ahead of myself. AND IT WORKED! I read so much and was way less stressed about it, it really was a great reading month for me.
Let’s jump in, shall we?
1. Heart of Mist
My first read of the month, Heart of Mist was a well written but slightly dull YA fantasy. I enjoyed it, but it could have been more. This was a copy gifted to me by the author, so it was one on my planned TBR. I think I actually finished it in the first few days of June, so I was pumped about it lol Full review is here!
2. The Friend Zone
Literally one of my favorite reads of the year, The Friend Zone had me laughing, crying, swooning and doing everything in between. I cannot recommend this book enough. I got this as an ARC from my friends at Forever so this was on my planned TBR! Review is here!
3. Left Fur Dead
My first cozy mystery of the month, Left Fur Dead was a gifted copy from my new partners, Kensington Publishing. It actually released in June, so it was part of my planned TBR. The novel was enjoyable, but to me, there were a lot of flaws and things I disliked. You can find my full review here!
4. A Dark and Stormy Murder
My second cozy for the month, A Dark and Stormy Murder was this month’s Cozy Mystery Book Club pick and one of my favorite reads of the month! It was so fun and had a great mystery, I cannot wait to continue with this series! It was part of my planned TBR and review is not up yet!
5. A Duke in the Night
Not part of my planned TBR, A Duke in the Night was an audiobook I picked up from my library to help satisfy my historical romance cravings. It’s become one of my favorite genres in the last year or so, and every now and then I get a serious craving for a historical and audiobooks are a great way for me to do that. No review up yet!
6. Springtime at Hope Cottage
My final planned book for June, Springtime at Hope Cottage is the second book in the Sweetwater Springs series, which started with Christmas on Mistletoe Lane. It was a gift from my friends at Forever and I literally had it on my TBR forever (ha!) I loved loved loved this sweet little contemporary and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I don’t usually enjoy contemporary romance as much, but I couldn’t put this one down. No review is up yet!
There you have it! I finished six books this month, and only five were part of my planned TBR, so the audiobook was an extra little treat this month.
I’m really proud of how this month’s reading went, and I can’t wait to see what July brings. I’ll be sharing my TBR for July later in the week, but I only have one or two books that I need to get to, so it’ll probably be a pretty fun month!
How was your June?
