Wrap-Up | November 2019

Hey I didn’t read a lot this November, I actually haven’t read a lot at all these last two months, but I wanted to hop on here and share my (small) November wrap-up with you all!

I didn’t make a November TBR because I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to read much as my semester was winding down and the Holidays were rapidly approaching, so I didn’t necessarily have anything I had to get to this month. I got two books from the library and read a gifted ARC, so it was a pretty successful month in that regard. But I did purchase a few new releases and some used books that I’m hoping I’ll get to devour this coming month.

I do have a December TBR planned out that I’ll share with you all in the next few days, but I’m hoping I can smash my December goal and read a TON while school is out! But, here are the three books I did manage to finish (and enjoy!) this November!

5 Stars

I really adore the Avatar comics (and the Korra ones) and so I’m very happy that my library always gets the new releases on their eBranch. If you’re a fan of the show then I highly suggest picking the comics up as well; they take place after the show ends and helps to make sense of some of the things that happen in The Legend of Korra, and they’re just really fun to meet back up with our old Team Avatar. Not to mention that the art is great and the story lines are really interesting and a bit more ‘grown-up’ than what we saw in the TV show, or at least that’s what I see it. There’s no review for this on my blog, but that pretty much summed up my feelings on this series!

4 Stars

This was the ARC I read in November! My friends at Kensington were kind enough to send me an ARC of this new release and I really enjoyed it! It released at the very end of October, right before Halloween, so it’s still a new release and perfect for Fall/Winter reading. It was such a fun read and the central mystery was juicy and remained a mystery to me right up until the end. Review for this will be up tomorrow (December 1st) so check back for more information!

388971373) Avatar: The Last Airbender – Team Avatar Tales

4 Stars

My third and final read of the month is the newest Avatar comic! This is a collection of short stories from the Team Avatar vault and don’t all take place after the show, so you can read this in addition to the other comics & the shows. It features stories and art from various contributors, so it’s a very interesting little book. This wasn’t my favorite Avatar comic and I wasn’t a fan of all the different arts (some of them didn’t even look like the characters IMO) but I did think the stories were cute. Overall it was a fun little read, especially since I’m always missing my Avatar friends, but I think that if you wanted to start the comics you should stick with the various other trilogies the Avatar-verse offers. No review for this since it’s a comic!

I started reading Red, White, and Royal Blue this month but I didn’t finish and my library hold ran out and I wasn’t able to renew it. I enjoyed the portion I did get to read and I think I’ll probably pick it back up once I’m able to check it out from the library again, but at the moment I don’t want to go out and buy it to keep going. I believe I was about 25% through, so I have a bit of a way to go once I get it again!

I also got The Giver of Stars from the library right after Thanksgiving, so I’ll be reading that in December! I haven’t actually opened it yet because of the Holiday and shopping, but I’m excited to start!

I’m kind of bummed about my November reading, but I’m also proud because I’m halfway through my Master’s program with school, which is (I feel) a logical excuse for putting reading on the side burner. Can’t wait to see what December brings me! Check back on my site on Monday for my December TBR posting!

Happy reading
